Lichtenhainer wasserfall

The Lichtenhainer wasserfall is a nice waterfall, dropping down over 5 stages with a total height of appr. 40 meter. The Lichtenhainer wasserfall is located near Bad Schandau (on the border with the Czech Republic) in the region Saksen, Germany. The waterfall is part of the Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz.

Driving from Dresden to Bad Schandau (road 172) you have to take the exit to the Kirnitzschtal (at hotel Lindenhof in Bad Schwandau). After 8 kilometer you see Gaststatte Lichtenhainer wasserfall along the road, a very beautiful building.

Park the car at the parking and walk to the waterfall in a few minutes. The Lichtenhainer wasserfall drops down in multiple stages but the most beautiful one is a singel drop of appr. 7 meter. The Lichtenhainer wasserfall is a regulated waterfall that is visible every 30 minutes.
