Husarfoss

(Húsárfoss)

Húsárfoss is a nice waterfall in the Northwest of Iceland and is difficult to reach. The water of the river Húsá drops down in two steps over appr 10-15 meters. The nice thing about the Húsárfoss is the shape of the fall in the shape of a fan with a wide of 60 meters.

To reach the Húsárfoss you have to take road 643 to the north from Djupavik. At Meladalur there is a dust road 649 to Eyri, but I am not sure if it is suitable for all kind of cars. From Eyri you have to follow the fjord before reaching the river Húsá. In total it is about 18 kilometers of road. A day trip by foot is also possible.
