Cascada de Cotatuero is one of the major waterfall in Parque Nacional de Ordesa. Cascada de Cotatuero is located near Torla in the region Asturias-Huesca, Spain.
From Biescas drive to Torla over road N260a, take the turn to Torla and Parque Nacional de Ordesa. There is the entry of the parc where it is possible to take several hikes. We choose the easy one, along the river Arazas, to the end of the valley where you can see the cascada de Cotatuero from a distance (on your left). From the park entry near Torla it takes about 1 hour to get to the first view on Cascada de Cotatuero. From there it is possible to hike to Circo de Cotatuero. I think the walk takes 2-3 hours before you reach Puente del Circo de Cotatuero (1.660 m).
On the trail to Cascada Cola de Caballo you will pass several waterfalls that are even more beautiful then Cascada Cola de Caballo: Casada del Estrecho, Cascada de Cotatuero (from a distance), Gradas de Soasa, Cascada de Arripas and several other small or unnamed waterfalls.
I really can say this is one of the best hikes I’d ever take with beautiful sceneries and wildlife. So don’t miss it.
