Cascada de Peñaladros

Cascada de Peñaladros is a nice waterfall near Cozuela/Valle de Mena in the region Castilla y Leon – Burgos, Spain.

From Bilbao it is a 40 kilometer drive south over road Artziniega (BU-550) and then to Cozuela and Cascada de Peñaladros. After Cozuela you already see signs for Cascada de Peñaladros and the road is getting smaller. Near the waterfall there is a parking but there are no signs pointing to Cascada de Peñaladros anymore.

Opposite of the parking there is a small path going down to the river and Cascada de Peñaladros. After a few minutes you have reached the waterfall.

Cascada de Peñaladros is a nice looking waterfall with a single drop of appr 15 meter. Best time to visit the waterfall is in springtime or later in the year when there is a lot of rainfall. I have also seen pictures of Cascada de Peñaladros in July with a respectable flow, so you can be lucky in summertime.
