Stampefossen
Most people will only notice all the waterfalls along the Flåmbanen by train: Brekkefossen (just outside Flåm), Rjoandefossen (also easy accessible by car/foot), the most famous waterfall: Kjosfossen, Kardalsfossen and all the other unnamed waterfalls along the Flåmbanen.
The Stampefossen is an unofficial named waterfall in the river Markåna, just outside Flåm, best viewed from the Aurlandsfjorden. The Stampefossen is situated two kilometers from Flåm on the east shore of the Aurlandsfjorden. The Stampefossen is fed by melting water coming down from the Lia Hovden plateau on an altitude of 1400 meters. The Stampefossen is a waterfall with a height of about 750 meters. Not very impressive but the flow of the river is powefull enough to be called waterfall.
