Summer 2017: Slovenian Alps

From where I live (the Netherlands) it is quite a long drive to Slovenia, a 13 hour drive. So we decided to make an in-between stop in Munchen (Germany). This is an amazing city with a lot of things to do. A two night stay is to short for this city: nice shopping, an olympic stadium, surfing in the centre of the town, lost of beer and much more.

Next stop was Bovec in Triglav national park. Luckily for us there wasn't much traffic at the Karawanken tunnel (toll). Almost immediately, after leaving the motorway, we experienced the beauty of Slovenia. I loved our first waterfall slap Peričnik ( near Mojstrana). I made a lot of pictures at this picturesque waterfall with two drops. But we only visited the base of slap Peričnik, spending lots of time enjoying this beauty! It was time to go to Bovec to our hotel, taking the mountain road from Kranjska Gora to Trenta and Bovec. The last part of the road runs along the most beautiful river of Europe, the famous and colorful river Soča. A must to visit!

IBovec is the perfect place when you want to see all that beauty in Triglav national park: off cause swimming in the Soča, good and affordable food and last but not least the moste beautiful waterfalls. Slap Kozjak, slap Virje and slap Boka are the most beautiful waterfalls near Bovec. After a few days we moved to a nice apartment in Bled.

From Bled there are so many things you can do: visit the castle, swimming in the lake, go canyoning at Slap Grmečica, visit the gorgeous slap Savica or visit the Vintgar gorge. To many things to do and so less time.... But, this is really the perfect spot to see some highlights of Slovenia.

Our trip ended at the capital Ljubljana. A nice little cosy city with good shopping, lots of streetart and so many restaurants. A perfect ending of a perfect holiday in Slovenia. Afterwards we also had a few days at the Beach in Croatia but there are no waterfalls!
