Kjemagafossen
(Kjemågafossen, Kjemåforsen)
Kjemågafossen is a 150 meter high waterfall south of Storfjord in the region Nordland, Norway.
Driving on the E6 to Storfjord (coming from the south) you will see Kjemågafossen at the left side of the road just before the Nordland Nasjonalparksenter. We tried to get a better view but this wasn’t easy. Because we had limited time that day we decided not to explore this waterfall. From a distance the waterfall looks more impressive then my pictures.
The river Kjemåga plunges down over 150 meters into the Luonosjåhkå. I love the Sami names. When driving in the northern part of Norway I often saw three different names for a place: Norwegian, Sami and another language (???). You see this kind of names often in Lapland. Kjemågafossen is an unofficial name.
