Trollkirka

(Trollkyrkja)

Trollkirka (Trollkyrkja) is a fabulous waterfall north of Molde in the region Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

From Molde drive north over road 64 to Moen and a little further until you see a parking at the left side of the road (gps 62.866950, 7.274667).

There is a marked path to Trollkirka north of the main road. The walk takes approximately 60-90 minutes (3 km with an ascent of 400 meter). It isn’t an easy hike and there is a lot to see. With rainy weather the trail can be very slippery. I have seen people who spend over 5 hours at Trollkirka!!

Trollkirka means Troll church and is a limestone cave in the mountains with underground rivers and waterfalls. The main cave is appr. 70 meter long and leads to the tallest waterfall, falling into a white marble bowl. There are several other drops, certainly a waterfall I want to check next time when I am in the area!!!
