Pisserotte, Cascade de la

(Cascade Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière)

Cascade de la Pisserotte or Cascade Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière is a single drop waterfall with a height of 90 meters. The waterfall is pretty impressive to see with a big mountainwall of limestone on the background.

The river Grand Moulin drops perfectly down like a vertical stripe over 90 meters. There aren’t many waterfalls with a perfect free fall and enough volume in the waterfall.

Cascade de la Pisserotte can be found in the little hamlet Les Grollets near Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière in the region Rhone-Alpes/Isere, France. The mountain range where Cascade de la Pisserotte is situated is called Chartreuse.

From Chambery drive south to Les Echelles (D1006) and further to Voiron (D520). In Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière drive further to Les Grollets. In Les Grollets turn left (southeast) and drive on to teh end of the road. There is a small parking.

From the parking it is 10 minute walk to the base of the waterfall, but you already can see Cascade de la Pisserotte from a distance.
