Cascade de Runes is a waterfall in the river Runes, west of Fraissinet-de-Lozère in the region Languedoc Roussillon/Lozere, France.
The waterfall of Runes is located north of Fraissinet-de-Lozère, along the road to Runes (D35). From Runes it is 20 minute walk to the top from where you can descend over manmade stairs to the bottom of Cascade de Runes.
It is also possible to approach the waterfall from the roadside (D35 south of Runes). take a small dustroad and park the car after 20 meters. Walk west and follow the trail down. Within 5 minutes you are at the top of Cascade de Runes. From here you have to descend to the bottom.
The river Runes drops down over two steps with a total height of 70 meters. Very impressive to see, especially early in the season.
It is allowed to swim down at the waterfall.
