Cascata Radime

(La farine dal djàul, Cascata Villa Santina)

Cascata Radime or “La farine dal djàul” is an extraordinary, unknown waterfall in the village of Villa Santina, in the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy.

From Tolmezzo take the exit to Villa Santina – 7 km (Road SS52). At the north side of the village you will see a limestone wall of 230 meters called “Cret”. When Cascata Radime is flowing you can see the waterfall from a far distance. From the starting point of “Via ferrata farina del diavolo” (gps 46.414039, 12.933878) you are closeby. From the village you can see cascata Radime from another point of view. Choose yourself which one you like most.

The river Radime falls down over a cliff creating one of the highest waterfalls of Italy, Cascata Radima, sometimes called Cascata Villa Santina. The total height is appr. 230 meter, one of the highest single drop waterfalls in Italy.

Cascata Radime is only visible when snow melts in the upper parts of the mountains where Monte Arvenis with 1.968 meters has the highest peak.

Cascata Radime can also be admired in al its glory after heavy rainfall. At that moment Cascata Radime can grow to a very powerful waterfall.
