Cascada del Gollorio

(Cola de Caballo)

Cascada del Gollorio or Cola de Caballo is a waterfall with an impressive single drop of 50 meters and is part of the nature park Parque Naturel Barranco del Rio Dulce. Unfortunately the river Barranco del Gollorio runs dry in summertime, but the gorge stays beautiful.

Cascada del Gollorio is located south of Pelegrina (south of Siguenza) in the region Castilla la Mancha-Guadalajara, Spain. From Siguenza drive south over road GU-118 passing Mirador de Pelegrina until there is small parking with a sign Barranco del Rio Dulce (gps: 41.015046, -2.616033). From here you follow the trail along the river, but the waterfall is also visible from the viewpoint Mirador Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente.

You also can view Cascada del Gollorio from aside. There is a small dust road, 2,5 kilometer after Mirador Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, to the right (no signs) at gps: 41.009075, -2.613724. Here you can drive another 1,4 kilometer until you can walk towards Cascada del Gollorio.
