Cascade de Ley

Cascade de Ley, also known as Cascade Gourette, is a little bit a hidden and unknown waterfall near the village of Gourette in the French Pyrenees.

When driving from Gavarnie to Spain we took road d918 and saw this amazing waterfall. At the time we where there they were building the Ley Telecabine. Cascade Gourette can be reached via the parking (gps 42.961246, -0.337236) at Telecabine de Ley, near the camping, west of the city centre of Gourette.

Park the car at the big parking and walk south at the end of the parking for a better view. Here you can see the river Ley plunging down over 120 meters. I also have seen figures with a height of 140 meter.

In summertime there is a lot of water in the river Ley, perfect to see a powerful cascade de Ley.
