Cascade du Fouillet
Cascade du Fouillet is the smaller brother of the nearby and famous Cascade d’Ars, a waterfall with 3,5 stars and in the top 10 of most beautiful waterfalls to visit in France!
Cascade du Fouillet is located south of Aulus les Bains in the French Pyrenees. From Foix drive south to Tarascon sur Ariege over road D20. There take the D8>D18>D8F to Aulus les Bains. There is a parking just south of the centre at gps 42.787450, 1.338215.
From the parking the walk takes about 80-90 min, but there are several points from where you can start. The parking mentioned above is also the trail to Cascade d’Ars (GR10), so you can combine a walk to both waterfalls. There are signs for both waterfalls.
Best time to visit Cascade du Fouillet is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, early summertime.
The average flow of the river Ruisseau du Fouillet (the river of cascade du Fouillet) is 0,57 m3/s but in springtime it will increase to 1,35 m3/s and reduces in summertime to 0,49 m3/s.
