Cascade du Muscadet

Cascade du Muscadet is a tall waterfall in the valley of the river Muscadet, a side valley of Vallee du Ribérot in the French Pyrenees.

Vallee du Ribérot is located south of Les Bordes sur Lez. From Saint Girons drive west over road d618 until you reach Audressein, here you take the d4 to Les Bordes sur Lez and further on to Vallee du Riberot. There is a sign, turn left here. Drive on until you reach a big parking.

From the parking at Maison du Valier it is a 3 kilometer walk (60 minutes)  following the river Le Ribérot at the east side of the river going south. After a short while the track bends away from the river following another river the Muscadet. Soon the trail goes steep up ascending appr. 150 meters. Just before another steep part of the trail you see the great cascade du Muscadet at your right.

The river Muscadet drops down over 180 meters in an unusual shape. That makes Cascade du Muscadet a very special waterfall, certainly early in the summer season.
