Cascata Riale Efra

Cascata Riale Efra is a waterfall near Frasco in Valle Verzasca, Ticino, Switzerland. Years ago I was on my way to cascata la Froda without noticing this waterfall directly along the main road. This year (2024) I did my homework and made a short stop to enjoy this small scenic waterfall with a pond where you can swim.

The river Efra drops down over a big rock of appr. 8 meter and crosses the main road at a bridge. Because the bridge is located in a bend in the road you might miss Cascata Riale Efra. There is a (paid) parking just before crossing the small bridge (gps 46.337538, 8.805896). From the bridge you have a nice view on the waterfall which most of the time is lying in the shade. At the end of the day more sunlight is falling on the pond where it might be possible to swim.

A few kilometer further into the valley you can visit the picturesque village of Sonogno. From here you can walk to the most beautiful waterfall of Valle Verzasca, cascata la Frodo.
