Eikjeskogfossen
(Eigeskogfossen)
After visiting some small waterfalls in the south of Norway, the Månafossen in the province Rogaland was the revelation so far. The weather wasn’t to good, rain and fog, but we enjoyed the power of the water in the river Månaåna which comes directly from the Månavatnet on an altitude of 341 meters.
The Månafossen has a single drop of 90 meters and can be very powerful. The Månafossen is the highest waterfall in Rogaland.
That’s why the Månafossen is a must to visit: an astonishing waterfall in a nice area. A certainty for good and beautiful pictures.
The way to the Månafossen is well signed. From road 45 take the turn to the 281 near Gilja towards Frafjord. Just follow the road and the signs that leads to a parking lot. From there it is a short walk (but steep and muddy at bad weather) to a view point on the Månafossen.
On the way to the Månafossen you will come by the Eikjeskogfossen, a waterfall with a height of 15 meters.
