Kálfárfoss is a nice photogenic waterfall upstream of the better known Bruarfoss, located near road 37 on the way to Geysir, in the region Suðurland, Iceland.
It isn’t easy to reach Kálfárfoss. From road 37 take the exit to “Miðhúsaskógur – 3 km” and park your car at the reception (if this still is allowed). From vacation houses 20 (gps 64.280105, -20.518636) there is a trail going to Brúarárskörð, a deep canyon at the source of the river Brúarár. Halfway you have to take a left turn to view Kálfárfoss.
The walk is takes over an hour and is approximately 5 kilometer long .
