Saudarfoss

(Sauðárfoss)

Sauðárfoss was a waterfall in the south of Iceland along road 1. Since 2006 a dam/power plant (Kárahnjúkavirkjunar) was built and the waterfall disappeared.

The river Sauðá used to fall through a big ravine, Merkurker north of Eyjafjallajökull (glacier) on the way to Þórsmörk. The river Sauðá is being fed by the glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
