Stigafoss is a low volume waterfall but is one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland, located east of the farm Hnappavellir in Skaftafell, Iceland.

Stigafoss is 140 meters high and is fed by melting water from the glacier Öræfajökull. Öræfajökull is part of the biggest glacier in Europe, the Vatnajökull. The highest peak ( also the highest mountain in Iceland) is the Hvannadalshnúkur with a height of 2.119 meters.

Near road 1 there is a path east of the farm Hnappavellir heading to the Stigafoss, but what I read is that you can’t approach the Stigafoss to the bottom of the waterfall.

Unfortunately I can’t find many pictures of the Stigafoss waterfall, but it is mentioned in several sources on the Internet.
