Whitelady waterfall
The Whitelady waterfall is a nice and picturesque waterfall in the Lydford gorge in the Dartmoor National park, south west England (UK).
North of Plymouth, on road A386, take the exit to Lydford. Follow the small road for nearly 2 kilometer until you see a small brown sign “Lydford gorge”. Go right to the parking (gps 50.640997, -4.110666). Parking is for free but you have to pay admission for the trail.
A roundtrip to the Whitelady waterfall only takes 1.6 kilometer and is easy to do. After 15-20 minutes you reach the best viewpoint where you can enjoy a marvelous view on the 28 meter high Whitelady waterfall.
The stories goes that the name of the Whitelady Waterfall comes from a spirit who haunts it
dressed in a long, white gown that flows like water. Some claim that anyone drowning in the river who sees her will be saved.
