The Lägerenbachfall is a tall, but low volume, waterfall near Engelberg in the region Obwalden, Switzerland. The waterfall is an unofficial named waterfall.
From Stans (road 2) take the exit to Engelberg and continue to Engelberg. There you have to go right following the signs “Furenalp” and “wasserfall”. The waterfall is located almost at the end of the valley, not far from the cable station “Furenalp bahn”. You can walk from the cable station to the waterfall or you can pay toll to drive further.
From the parking at the “Furenalp bahn” it is a 70 min walk (4.2 km) to the Lägerenbachfall, located at the right side, just before Restaurant Stäfeli. The walk takes you along the river Stierenbach with some nice waterfalls.
There are many other low volume waterfalls in the valley also very suitable for hiking. The Tätschbachfall is one of them, also the first significant waterfall you meet on the way to the Furenalpbahn parking.
