Cascata di Lenteney is of the best waterfalls to visit on a warm day in summer. Cascata di Lenteney is located near La Salle in the region Valle d’Aosta, Italy.
I did not have too high expectations of waterfalls in Italy, to the contrary. This was our first encounter with a waterfall in Italy. Wonderful to see in a picturesque area.
The waterfall is just outside La Salle visible from the road SS26 if you drive in a northwesterly direction, otherwise you have to look over your shoulder. There is a small parking lot in front of the waterfall over the bridge. From the road you can admire the beauty of the waterfall, but to the left of the parking lot you can walk (in a few minutes ) to a bridge with a beautiful view. Along the way there are lots of flowers and butterflies flying around a lot.
From here you might yet be able to climb to the top of the waterfall for a nice view.
The source of Cascata di Lenteney lies at one of the largest glaciers in Italy at Ghiaccialo del Rutor.
Note: I was in Italy in July/August 2014 in an extremely wet summer. The volume of waterfalls can be different from on the photo’s I took.
