The Obervintler wasserfall or in Italian Cascate di Vandoies is a beautiful waterfall east of the village Obervintl (Vandoies di Sopra) in the region Trentino – Alto Adige, Italy.
The waterfall is not very far located from highway A22. At Brixen take the exit to the ss49 (Val Pusteria). After 30 km take the left turn to Vandoise and follow the sign further to Viletta (Dörfl).
East of Obervintl/Vandoies di Sopra (along road SS49) there is a small sign “Kreuzbichl”, take this road (Via dei Fabbri) and drive ta little further until you see a spot where you can park your car. There isn’t an official parking. Walk further up the road until see a wooden manmade sign.
This is where you walk along a barking (harmless) dog towards (or along) the river Ternerbach. It is a short but pleasant walk of 5 minutes over a well maintained path. Seen you will see a small waterfall with a height of 2 meter, a nice beginning.
Anyway it is a place to relax, there are several benches. A perfect spot to go to with your children. There where several families visiting the Obervintler wasserfall. I was there May 1, 2019 and it was a holiday. Maybe this was the reason of the families I saw. In the days before, chasing waterfalls in the northern part of Italy, I hardly saw any people.
The Obervintler wasserfall has a single drop of 43 meter and is early in the season a welcome appearance. I spend a lot of time making pictures because I liked the Obervintler wasserfall more then I had seen before on pictures.
