Laimacher wasserfall
(Laimacherfall)
The Laimacher wasserfall is a gorgeous waterfall near the village Laimach (Hippach) in the Zillertal, part of the region Tirol, Austria.
From Zell am Ziller you have to drive to the south over road 169 until you reach Laimach. There are two small parkings, almost along the main road (gps 47.217371, 11.865535). From the parking in Laimach you have to walk down the road (it goes a little up) until you reach the trail along the river Gschirrbach which brings you to the Laimacher wasserfall. The last part is a nice walk through the forrest. The walk is easy and it took me 20-25 minutes before the path ended at a nice viewpoint on the Laimacher wasserfall.
The waterfall is quite tall but is also hard to see from teh viewpoint. I think in a few years you will only see parts of teh waterfall because the vegetation gets more dense every year (in summertime). There is a bench at the viewpoint where you can rest and where you enjoy a lunch with the best view you can think of. A nice trip when you are staying in the Zillertal.
The Laimacher wasserfall is 56 meters high (measured). Best time to visit the Laimacher wasserfall is in the morning, early in the summer. I visited the Laimacher wasserfall in the summer of 2024 and the waterfall was quite powerful for a late July.
There are a few other nice waterfalls in the Zillertal (nearby) you can visit: The Keilkeller wasserfall, the Talbach wasserfall and the Stillup wasserfall at the stausee.
