Cascade de la Vuzelle

Cascade de la Vuzelle is one of the tallest waterfalls in France and is located in Parc national de la Vanoise.

From Albertville drive south to Moutiers and there take the D915 to Planay. South of Planay you will see at the left side of the road a waterfall, the lower part of the river Ruisseau de la Vuzelle. But actually this isn’t the huge part of the waterfall. Upstream at an altitude of 1.662 you will see an enormous waterfall with (almost) a single drop of 240 meter.

There is a parking along the road (gps 45.412263, 6.709480), where the river crosses the road. From here a steep trail starts to a bridge over the river (there are signs). The trail ascends over almost 500 meter in a short time. You will arrive at a viewpoint on the 240 meter high waterfall Cascade de la Vuzelle.
