Eas an t Strutha Ghil

Eas an t Strutha Ghil is a low stream waterfall opposite of the more known Eas a’ Chual Aluinn, which is said to be the highest waterfall in Scotland. Both waterfall are officially named waterfalls but I think Eas an t Strutha Ghil waterfall has less volume. On the other hand Eas an t Strutha Ghil waterfall is supposed to be 290 meters high. So this should be the highest waterfall in Scotland???

Eas an t Strutha Ghil waterfall is located near Kylesku, 50 kilometers north of Ullapool in Scotland (United Kingdom).

Eas an t Strutha Ghil waterfall can be reached by a 9 kilometer walk across boggy ground from the road 5 kilometers south of Kylesku. There is a parking area (with a parking sign) on the sharp bend on the A894 between Kylesku and the Lochinver junction.

In good weather, a boat-trip runs from the slipway by the Kylesku Hotel to Loch Beag where you can see the Eas a’ Chual Aluinn waterfall.

Best time to visit the Eas an t Strutha Ghil waterfall is after heavy rainfall.
