Reppafossen

When visiting Norway most people take road r13 with many touristic hotspots. But they forget to go to the west side of the Folgefonna glacier. Beside the terrific views you have on the Hardangerfjorden there are also great walks and waterfalls to visit. The Furebergfossen is one of them. A wonderful walk is the walk to the Bondhusvatnet, one of the most beautiful trails in Norway!  Free raspberry’s in summertime and unbelievable views on lakes, glaciers and waterfalls.

Best time to visit the Reppafossen is June when melted snow find its way down the mountains. When I was at the Reppafossen may 3th 2015 there was no Reppafossen at all. Temperatures were to low.

To get there, take the r550 at Odda and take the turn to the r551/Folgefonnatunnel (toll). The Reppafossen is a waterfall in Flatebo/Marangsfjorden in the municipality Kvinnherad/Hordaland. The water from the Insta Reppavatnet thunders down over a height of 160 meters crossing the Jonndalstunnelen.

From road 551 to Sunndal you will have a good overall view on the fall. From  Flatebø you will have a good close view on the fall. We stayed at camping Sunndal where you also can see this waterfall. I will add a photo later on.

A little bit further on after Sunndal you will find one of the widest waterfalls of Norway, the Furebergsfossen. When time left also get hiking in the Bonhusdalen/Bondhusvatnet where you can find several waterfalls: Kroksfossen and the Brufossen.
