Cascada de la Cimbarra
Cascada de la Cimbarra is a gorgeous waterfall in the river Rio Guarrizas and is appr 40 meters high. There are more drops in the river but Cascada de la Cimbarra is the highest and most beautiful waterfall. The area of Cascada de la Cimbarra is nowadays a national park: Parque Natural de Despeñaperros.
Cascada de la Cimbarra is located south of Aldeaquemada in the region Andalucia-Jaen, Spain. From Valdepeñas drive south to Venta de Cardenas over road A4. A few kilometers further take the exit to Aldeaquemada (J-6110). In Aldeaquemada turn right to Cimbarra (there is a sign) and drive on for 3 kilometers. The last part is a dust road. Before the S turn there is a small parking.
There are two trails going to the waterfall Cascada de la Cimbarra but both trails come together near a viewpoint on Cascada de la Cimbarra. The walk takes 10 minutes.
Best time to visit Cascada de la Cimbarra is after a period of rainfall.
