Cascade de Fontcouverte

Cascade de Fontcouverte is a wide waterfall near Nevache, north of Briancon, in Vallee de la Claree in the Haute Alpes, France.

From Briancon go east to Montgenevre and then north into Vallee de la Claree (D994G>D301T). Follow the road for 22 kilometers. There is a parking (gps 45.034259, 6.545139) and picnic spot near camping Fontcouverte from where the waterfall can be reached in 5-10 minutes. Walk back to the river and bridge. Before the bridge there is a path at the right side of the road (at la fruitiere de nevache). Just follow the river downstream.

Cascade de Fontcouverte is situated in the river La Clarée and is appr 8 meters high, but also 8 meters wide. A nice waterfall to see, especially early in the season.
