Cascade de la Sompe

Cascade de la Sompe is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Ardèche region in France. Cascade de la Sompe is located north of the small village Lagorce.

From Vallon pont d’Arc drive north to Lagorce over road d1. After Lagorce it is a 4 kilometer drive until you see a small road going to the right with a board “camping les Silhols”. Go right here. At the house (little bit further) keep right, don’t follow the sign for the camping. The road is very narrow, but you can drive here.

Follow the road for 600 meter until you cross a small stream (probably you won’t notice), but there is a path with a sign at the right side of the road (gps 44.476906, 4.427295). Park the car where possible.

Here the trail goes down to Gour de la Sompe, which can be reached in appr. 10 minutes. An amazing surrounding with great views, rock formations and the waterfall Cascade de la Sompe.

In summertime the waterfall probably runs dry.
