Cascades les Gorges de Langouette
Cascades les Gorges de Langouette is a series of cascades and rapids with a total descent of 60 meters. The canyon with the waterfalls are located in the village of Les Planches en Montagne, south of Champagnole in the Jura, France.
From Champagnole drive south to Syam and Les Planches en Montagne over road d127 until you reach the village of Les Planches en Montagne. There is a sign at the right pointing to Gorges de Langouette. After 500 meters there is a small free parking (gps 46.655895, 6.005274) with two information boards. There is a signposted footpath leading along several viewpoints taking 15-20 minutes.
I never visited cascades les Gorges de Langouette until May 2022. From the bridge at the parking you already can see the lower waterfall. Even if you walk upstream towards the waterfall, it is difficult to see. You can walk a little further up to the end of teh gorge where there are some buildings to see the upper part of cascades les Gorges de Langouette. The upper part has two drops and is the biggest waterfall in the gorge.
It was a nice visit, not very special, but the waterfalls are easy to visit, so why not go there? One of the best waterfalls you can visit in the Jura isn’t far away and is a must to visit: Cascades du Herisson near Doucier!
