Cascata di Isollaz
Cascata di Isollaz is an awesome waterfall near Isollaz in the region Valle d’Aosta, Italy.
When driving to Brusson there is an exit Isollaz before Challand Saint Victor. A 100 meter further there is a new parking lot where you can park your car. Walk about 200 meter down the road until there is a sign to the Cascata di Isollaz. Follow the steep trail down that leads to Cascata di Isollaz in 10 minutes. Turn left at the end and walk towards the waterfall.
At the waterfall there is a ruin of a house, perfect to get a nice picture of the river Evançon dropping down with great force over 40 meters. But be careful, on rainy days the trail can be slippery,
Best visit for the waterfall is at midday because the waterfall lies in a canyon. Nice to see with enough water in it, really worthwhile to visit.
There are some other fabulous waterfall in the Aosta valley with one of the nicest waterfall in Italy: cascate del Rutor. Or a very scenic waterfall where you can swim, cascate de Lillaz. I was surprised to see that the waterfalls in Valle d’Aosta where so beautiful and so powerful.
Note: I was in Italy in July/August 2014 in an extremely wet summer. The volume of waterfalls can be different from the photo’s I took.
Cascata non praticabile da tutti, sentiero in discesa tra sassi e dirupi ,strada non facile ,alti massi da superare scendendo e salendo, oltretutto molto stancante consigliata a esperti della montagna.
I can remember a small path going down, not that steep, but indeed you have to be a little careful.
