Cascate del Mulino

Cascate del Mulino (also named Cascate del Gorello) is an extraordinary waterfall at a hot spring in Saturnia (Grosseto), in the region Toscane, Italy.

Cascate del Mulino is located in the southern parts of Tuscany, near Manciano. From Manciano drive north to Montemerano (sp159) and there take the exit to Saturnia (sp10). After 4.2 kilometer Cascate del Mulino is located at the left side of the road. The waterfall isn’t visible from teh road side but it can’t miss. There are big signs for “cascate del Gorello” or “cascate del Mulino”.

It can be very crowded but there is a huge parking near the waterfall (gps 42.648192, 11.511214). From the parking it is a 2 minute walk to the base of cascate del Mulino.

The springs of sulphuric waters form large ponds with a temperature of 37.5° C, creating free and open-air thermal “pools”. The main thermal waterfalls are the Cascate del Mulino, located on the grounds of an old mill, and the Cascate del Gorello. The large basin above the waterfall bestows a dreamlike atmosphere, especially enjoyable in the evening.

Access to the pools and waterfalls are free.
