Dundelbachfall
The Dundelbachfall is an easy to reach waterfall at the south side of the Lungernsee in the region Obwalden Switzerland.
From Luzern drive south to Brienz and take the exit Lungern (32). Drive south along the Lungernsee. In Lungern keep along the Lungernsee and drive towards the cable station. Here you already can see the Dundelbachfall in the distance. It is possible to drive closer. Keep on driving until you reach the bridge over the river Dundelbach(at a small busstop).
Parking your car near the bridge, for a longer time, is a problem. The nearest parking is a 400 meters back at the Lungern cable car (gps 46.784809, 8.150367). But from the bridge/busstop it is possible to walk upstream to the base of the waterfall in 5 minutes.
If you don’t want to make a detour: you also have a good view from the other side of the lake in Lungern when standing at the water front.
The Dundlebackfall is a nice and impressive waterfall with a total drop of 150 meter. The Dundelbachfall plunges down in two stages where the upper part is a little bit higher and more impressive.
Best time to visit the waterfall is early summer when there is a lot of snow melting down from the “hoch Gumme”, a mountain with a height of 2.204 meter.
