Dürrmoos Wasserfall
The Dürrmoos Wasserfall is a tall waterfall in the Sölktäler nature reserve near Sankt Nikolai in the region Steiermark, Austria.
From highway A10 it is a short drive to Schladming and a little further take the exit to Pruggern and there are already signs for “Naturpark Sölktäler”. Follow the signs to Sankt Nikolai. There is a free parking along the road at Sankt Nikolai (gps 47.320833, 14.046724).
Although you already can see the Dürrmoos Wasserfall from the village, it is a nice and easy walk to the base of the waterfall. Walk to the church and keep a little right. Before crossing the river go left and follow the river for 3,2 kilometer (staying at the left side-east side of the river). After ascending 90 meters you will reach the Dürrmoos Wasserfall after approximately 60 minutes.
At the end of the trail you can see a small part of the waterfall but on the way to the Dürrmoos Wasserfall you will have a nice view on the the total waterfall. Not a very impressive waterfall but nevertheless a nice walk.
At the right of the Dürrmoos Wasserfall there is another waterfall (with more volume). I don’t think the Dürrmoos Wasserfall is very impressive in (late) summertime. Best time to visit the waterfall is after a period when snow melts rapidly.
