Glenmacnass waterfall
(Gleann Log an Easa)
The Glenmacnass waterfall is one of the highest waterfall in the Republic of Ireland and is located between Sally Gap and Laragh (Wicklow county).
The Glenmacnass waterfall is a tourist attraction and can easily be reached when driving from Laragh to Sally Gap on road R115. Halfway you already see the waterfalls cascading down a big rock formation at the left side of the road (when driving from Laragh to Sally Gap). A little further there is a big parking at the left side of the road “Tonelagee Car Park” (gps 53.066535, -6.339364).
There isn’t a trail that runs to the base of the waterfall but you can walk back for a good view on the Glenmacnass waterfall. It is possible to walk to the base of the waterfall because I have seen pictures of it. I am afraid you have to enter private property (at the house along the road) to go to the base but I can imagine you won’t get permission.
