Follow the signs to the parking, there another right turn. The trailhead lies at the parking (gps 52.223682, -7.541210).
A roundtrip to the Mahon falls (waterfall trail) takes a little over an hour (4 kilometer) with an elevation of 300 meter. The waterfall trail starts ascending till the top of the hill and descends at the waterfall.
You also can choose the easy trail and stay near the river with a minimal ascend. This is also much shorter and faster.
