Mickiewicza Wodospad
(Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza)
Mickiewicza Wodospad or Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza is one of the nicer waterfalls in Poland although it is only 9 meter high.
Mickiewicza Wodospad is located south of Lysa Polana along the trail to Morskie Oko, a big and beautiful lake. This region is popular by hikers and can be very crowded. Most tourists are here to visit lake Morskie Oko when walking along Mickiewicza Wodospad.
From Zakopane drive to Lysa Polana over road 961>960. You have to park your car at the big parking at Lysa Polana (Palenica Białczańska) because the last part of the road to Morskie Oko is prohibited for cars. It can be very crowded and you have to pay for the parking and for the entrance to the lake. The walk to lake Morskie Oko takes 1,5-2 hours (5 km over an asphalt road) but Mickiewicza Wodospad is already visible halfway (after 40 minutes).
The river Roztoka plunges down in two (visible) steps over appr 9 meter. The waterfall can be quite powerful and is therefore one of the more beautiful waterfall in Poland. It is hard to get closer to the waterfall but you will have a great view from the bridge.
