Rhaeadr y Graig Lwyd
(Conwy falls, Conway falls)
Rhaeadr y Graig Lwyd or Conwy falls is a small, but very nice twinfall, in the river Conwy south of Betws-y-Coed (Snowdonia) in Wales.
At road A5 there is a cafe, Conwy falls, where you can start a walk to this beautiful waterfall. A small fee is required (£2 p/p in 2023) for entering a short trail that leads to the Conwy waterfall. It is possible to pay with a card or with coins to go through a gate. After the gate you have to keep left where the path goes slightly down. After 5-10 minutes you reach the viewpoint where you can see the twinfall.
The view is great, especially after rainfall (July 2013 was quite wet). The river colored cola brown which add something special to the waterfall. At the viewpoint you can climb further down a bit to the river but be very careful!!! Here you can see a nice third drop.
When going back to the parking at Conwy cafe keep left again to the entrance. It is a short walk but the path goes slightly up.
Rhaeadr y Graig Lwyd is appr 10-15 meter heigh and can be quit powerful in after rainy period. It is a nice place to visit if you are staying in Betws-y-Coed. It is only a 10 minute drive over road A5. Don’t expect a great walk (we spend 30-35 minutes incl. the walk), but if you like waterfalls, you have to visit the place.
