Salto da Farinha

Salto da Farinha

Salto da Farinha is a nice waterfall located between Achadinha and Salga on the isle of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal.

From Achadinha take the local road to Salga (M521). After 2,5 Km, exit this road and take a narrow one (right side) until the parking of Miradourdo do Salto da Farinha (less than 500 m). There are signs and it is a gorgeous viewpoint with on one side Salto da Farinha and at the other side the sea.

To go to the base of the waterfall, walk 5-10 more minutes following the path. You’ll be in a viewpoint under the waterfall. There is also a path (from the bottom, at the left side of the river, that goes up aside of Salto da Farinha).

Unfortunately there was no water in Salto da Farinha when we visited the waterfall August 2022. This waterfall should be the highlight of all waterfall on São Miguel. It hadn’t rained for two weeks on São Miguel, so best time to visit Salto da Farinha is after a long period of rain!
