Sisselfossen
Sisselfossen is a gorgeous waterfall in the Sanddøldalen in the region Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. Sisselfossen is located along road 74 between Formofoss and Sandvika.
You can see this huge and powerful waterfall from a distance when driving on road 74. When walking to the edge of the canyon (few hundred meters) you probably have a good view on the waterfall.
But this is a waterfall you should explore: on pictures I see people swimming at the bottom of the waterfall Sisselfossen. With warm weather a marvelous idea.
North of Skjelstad (near Sandvika) a trail starts where a nice walk brings you to the bottom of Sisselfossen. When driving on road 74 at Skjelstad, take a small road north/northwest to “Agard”. After 3.7 km turn left and cross the bridge into the Merkesdalen. At the end of the road (toll) there is a small parking from where the trail to Sisselfossen begins (gps 64.4999991,13.2252299).
The walk should take 30-40 minutes (appr. 1,8 kilometer). In the beginning the path goes slightly up (ascend 40 meter) and at the second part of the trail you descend over 100 meter. Not a very difficult walk.
