Abbachfall

The Abbachfall is a nice waterfall near Grindelwald in the region Berner Oberland, Switzerland. The water of the river Abbach drops down in two stages over appr. 30 meter.

From Interlaken drive to Grindelwald and park the car somewhere near the train station. It is possible to walk from Grindelwald to the Abbachfall in 60 minutes, with an ascent of appr 300 meter.

It is also possible to drive closer to the waterfall, but the last part of the road is prohibited for normal traffic. There are  sign pointing to the Abbachfall. From the roadside walk to the waterfall in 10-15 minutes. Just follow the road until you reach the river Abbach.

In the valley next to Grindelwald you can find several great waterfalls (near Lauterbrunnen). The most famous ones are the Trümmelbachfälle and the gorgeous Staubbachfall, a must to visit.
