(Cascate di Vallesinella, Cascate Alte, Cascate Basse)

In the northeast of Italy there is a valley named Vallesinella with several impressive waterfalls plunging down from the mountains. The river Sarca di Vallesinella plunges down in 3 major waterfalls. The upper waterfall is called Cascate Alte or Cascate di Sopra and is located above the mountain hut Vallesinella. The one in the middle is the biggest and is called Cascate di Mezzo. The lower fall is called Cascate di Sotto. There also a few smaller falls with names like Cascate Basse. The general name for the waterfall is Cascate di Vallesinella.

The total descent of the river is more then 500 meters. The biggest waterfall is Cascate di Mezzo which plunges down in several step over 120 meter.

The water of the river is being fed with melting water of snow and some small glaciers on the mountain Cima Brent (3150 m).

The waterfalls of the Valley Vallesinella are located south of Madonna di Campiglio in the region Trentino – Alto Adige. There is a big parking lot at the mountain hut Vallesinella.
