Le Cirque du Fer a Cheval is one of the places you have to visit in France. At the end of the valley you will find a big mountain wall (4-5 kilometers) in the shape of a horseshoe where over 30 waterfalls are coming down. A lot of them are named, but the tallest and most impressive waterfall in Le Cirque du Fer a Cheval is the waterfall Cascade de Pissevache.
Cascade de Pissevache is one of the tallest waterfalls in France with a total height of 450 meters. Cascade de Pissevache is fed by melted snow from the mountainrange above with peaks up to 3.000 meters. Best time to visit Cascade de Pissevache is early in the summer.
Cascade de Pissevache is located south of Geneve not far from the A40. From the A40 take the exit to Morzine. After 9,5 kilometers take the exit to Samoens/Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval. In Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval drive onto Le Cirque du Fer a Cheval. At the end of the road there is a big parking lot and in summertime it is a popular area for hikers.
From the parking you already have a good view on all the waterfalls and Cascade de Pissevache. It is possible to walk around the area to admire all the waterfalls from nearby.
