Powerscourt waterfallThe Powerscourt waterfall is the highest waterfall in the republic of Ireland with a total drop of 121 meter. The Powerscourt waterfall is easy to reach and is located south of Dublin at Deerpark, near Enniskerry (Wicklow).

From Dublin it is a 45 minute drive south over the M50>M11>N11 to Bray. After Bray take the exit to the R755 “Kilmacanoge”. Drive west to R755>R760 to Ballybawn. Just outside Ballybawn go left to the parking at the Powerscourt waterfall (there is no sign). A little further you can follow the signs to the parking (gps 53.148844, -6.208397).

The Powerscourt waterfall has opening hours. For more information visit the website of the Powerscourt Estate. You also have to pay admission to visit the waterfall.

At the parking there are toilet facilities and even better you can already see the beautiful Powerscourt waterfall. After a two minute walk you are at the base of the waterfall.

The river Dargle drops down over 121 meters and flows all year around. The Powerscourt waterfall is definitely the most beautiful waterfall in Ireland and impressive to see. The water tumbles down in a horsetail (fan) shape.

The waterfall is part of the Powerscourt estate which also can be visited. A gorgeous house (castle) with nice gardens. You have to pay admission.

The Powerscourt waterfall is an important part of the popular series Fate Winx sagas . In front of the waterfall there is a magic circle which contains all powers to run the school.
Actually there have been 50 different movies and TV series shot at Powerscourt since Laurence Olivier started the trend by filming Henry V here in 1944.

There aren’t many other waterfall in Ireland but the Torc waterfalls are the most famous ones and are located near Killarney Town.
