Tröllkonuhlaup or Tröllkonufoss is a small waterfall east of the Mountain Búrfell, in the river Þjórsá. The waterfall is only a few meters high but the river is very wide at the Tröllkonuhlaup (30 meter).
Tröllkonuhlaup is located east of Selfoss in an area with lots of great waterfalls, near mount Búrfell, in the south of Iceland.
From Selfoss take road 1 to the east and take the exit left to road 26 (Landvegur) for 44 kilometers. There is a sideroad (4 kilometer) going to the Thjofafoss, but you have to drive further for 2 kilometers.Tröllkonuhlaup is located 18 kilometers before the junction with road 32.
The river Þjórsá drops down over a wide of appr 30 meters with mount Búrfell in the background.
