Cascade d’Aiguebelle

Cascade d’Aiguebelle is a gorgeous scenic waterfall near Pontaix in the region Auvergne/Rhone Alpes, France.

When driving on road D93 in Pontaix take the exit (near the bridge over the river Drôme) to the old village. After 100 meter there is a parking (gps 44.749520, 5.263532). 

There is path when walking into a small alley, at the parking, called “calade de la cascade”. Take the stairs up and take the path going up the mountain. Soon you will see the first small waterfall with a nice pool in front. A little further (going up along the river) you will see a bigger single drop Cascade d’Aiguebelle with a singel drop of appr. 20 meter.

I think there isn’t always water in the river, certainly not in a dry period.
