Cascade de l’Essert

Cascade de l’Essert is one of the highest waterfalls in France and is located near Châtel in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.

From the D22 in Châtel take the D228 to Villapeyron and l’Essert. Follow the road to Les très Pierres for 3,5 km until you see the tall Cascade de l’Essert at the right side of the valley.

You will have the best views when approaching Cascade de l’Essert from a distance. The closer you get the less you see of the waterfall.
