Cascade du Pla D’Ailhet
Cascade du Pla D’Ailhet is a small waterfall in the Cirque d’Estaube (Gedre) in the French Pyrenees. The waterfall is located on an altitude of 1.831 meters.
The way to Cascade du Pla D’Ailhet is in the beginning also the direction to the more popular cirque du Troumouse but you have to turn right.
In Gedre (south of Luz Saint Sauveur) take the D922 to the lake, there is a parking at the dam, at Lac des Gloriettes (gps 42.751277, 0.051808). Cascade du Pla D’Ailhet can be reached by walking to the dam, around the lake (to the south). The trail runs along the river Gave d’Estaube. Keep as close to the river as possible and cross it. The last part of the walk runs at the east side of the river. The trail ends at the waterfall.
The walk (one way) takes 90-120 minutes and is appr 7 kilometers long. The ascent over 7 kilometer is 200 meter, not that difficult.
